Healthy Smoothie Recipes - Quick and Easy Breakfast on the Go

It's hard to beat these healthy smoothie recipes for a quick and easy breakfast in a glass. Packed with fruit and all its associated vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, and protein from milk and/or yogurt they're a deliciously healthy and easy way to start your day. If mornings are especially time-crunched, mix up the healthy smoothie before you go to bed and place it in the fridge. In the morning just give it a quick whir, pour into a glass and enjoy.

Here are a few of my favorite healthy smoothie recipes for a quick and healthy breakfast:

Fruit Smoothie

Place ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth:

  • 1/2 cup milk (or soy milk or coconut milk)
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 cup unsweetened frozen fruit of your choice (blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, mango, peaches, banana, or any combination)
  • 1 scoop protein powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or 2-3 drops stevia extract to taste

Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

Place ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth:

  • 1/2 cup milk (or soy milk or coconut milk)
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons natural creamy peanut butter
  • 1 frozen banana, broken into pieces

Pumpkin Smoothie

Place ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth:

  • 1/4 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup milk or soy milk
  • 1 scoop plain or vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup or 3-4 drops of stevia extract to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 2-3 ice cubes (optional)
